You Can’t Go Wrong With an iPad

Here we are two days to go and you haven’t been able to make a decision about what to buy for that one on your list simply wants a Tablet.

You are now totally confused. At first an iPad seemed a simple choice but then you started to read that there were tablets available with slightly sharper screens, the Kindle HDX 8.9 and the New Nexus 7. Sure the have a few more pixels per inch but the screens are both smaller than the iPad Air. But if you wanted to look a the iPad Mini with Retina which holds it’s own on pixels per square inch with the other two but then you read the iPad Mini has a lower colour gamut..or lower colour quality than the others. You need instruments to tell the difference or a really good eye.

Your best bet is to ignore all that stuff and take a look at the iPad for what it is…a somewhat top of the line tablet with a great screen, fast processor and in the case of the iPad Air significantly lighter than other full size tablets. Thanks to its vast ecosystem of apps, great performance, and a fantastic screen, the iPad Air retains Apple’s title for the best tablet money can buy. Though other contenders from Google and Amazon are beginning to mount stronger competition, the iPad Air is still the best. The iPad Air delivers more performance and comparable battery life in an attractive and impossibly thin-and-light package. The front facing Camera is improved and makes for good looking facetime images. The powerful 64bit A7 processor produces some great gaming experiences.

Now if like me you prefer smaller tablets, the iPad Mini with Retina Display is the iPad Air in a smaller, cheaper package that’s just as capable as its bigger sibling. Also, thanks to its smaller screen, the tablet’s pixel density is one of the highest yet on any tablet. This is not only the best version of the iPad so far but, thanks to its incredible apps options and robust media ecosystem, it’s the best small tablet, period.   The huge Apple ecosystem of apps, games, music and videos can’t be beat and almost by iteself is a major reason why you can’t go wrong with a  iPad.

What more could you ask for? Lightweight, well built tablets with great screens and powerful processors all backed by the unbeatable Apple ecosystem. So head out now with confidence ignore all the noise and buy an iPad. You can’t go wrong.

The iPad Air in Space Grey or Silver starts at $518 ($499US) for the 16Gb WiFi version and tops out at $949 ($899US) for the 128Gb with WiFi and LTE. The iPad Mini with Retina display in the same colours starts at $419($399US) for the 16Gb WiFi version and tops out at $849($799US) for the 128Gb version with WiFi and LTE. They are also available for lower up front costs with a contract  from major wireless phone providers.

I’ve never been able to appreciate an Apple product after using iTunes which is so restrictive and “self-centered”. We have several iPads in the family, but I much prefer the Samsung Note 10.1 – 2014. I believe that Santa will bring one on December 24th.
