HTC One delayed

htc-one-silver-en-angled-listingHTC today confirmed the persistent rumour that it’s new Flagship Smartphone the HTC One due to ship in March has been delayed at least a month. Delivery in the US and Canada is now expected before the end of April. It will however ship next week in

The confirmation came in the form of a letter to people who had preordered the spectacular looking new smartphone.

The video mentioned in the letter attests to the complexity of building the solid metal case for the HTC One and is suspected to be the main reason for the delay.

This delay is something HTC did not need as it struggles to regain some credibility in then smartphone marketplace where building great phones does not necessarily mean commercial least not for HTC. It needed to have this phone available ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S IV or the iPhone 5S and now it doesn’t look like that will happen. Too bad because many of those who have had a chance to try out the HTC One describe it as spectacular.

It is no secret that I love HTC phones and that I consider HTC smartphones to be the best of the bunch but I don’t think this delay is going to help the company’s fight to regain credibility in a very tough marketplace. What do you think?
