The creative way TYLY manipulates the letters of its name to create a logo is indicative of the cool mobile accessories TYLT offers for sale. Portable power, cases, speakers and more all with a bit of je ne sais quoi…in other words they are cool.
When TYLT offered to send me a sampling of its products I expected a couple of items so I was quite surprised to see a quite sizable box arrive at my door. It has taken me a while to go through them all but I liked what I found in the box.
There were three different portable power packs in the box:
ENERGI Travel charger with built-in battery: This clever device with fold-away AC prongs can be a light weight (3.8 oz) travel charger for most portable devices, its 1 amp output will also handle tablets as well as a compact home charger. The internal 1.800mAh battery will give you an extra 5 hours of talk time or provide one full charge of an iPhone 5, there was a bit of juice left after charging my iPhone 5. It will provide about a 3/4 charge on one of the big screen smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One. That should be enough to get you through the busiest of days. It takes 4-5 hours to recharge the internal battery but you can also be charging a device at the same time. The ENERGI features an embedded micro USB cable as well as a standard USB socket to accommodate an Apple Lightning cable for example. At $39.95 the price is as light as its weight.
POWERPLANT Portable Battery Pack: This compact little device is aptly named. A 5,200mAh battery is packed into this 5.4 oz little beauty. Output current is 2.1 amps, enough power to quick charge one device or normally charge two devices at a time or a 7″ tablet. TYLT sent me two of these, one with a Lightning plug and the other with a Apple 30 pin plug, a Micro USB version is also available. I used then to charge a variety of devices, iPhone 5, HTC One X smartphone and a Logitech UE Mobile Boombox. I was able to fully charge both phones or one phone and the speaker with juice left over.Recharge time is 6-7 hours. Priced at $70for the micro-USB version, $75 for Apple 30 pin and $90 for the Apple Lightning version. This little gadget is well worth the price and is now a must pack item when I leave home.
Charging on the Road:
How often have you wanted to take advantage of time on the road to charge your devices? Well TYLT has a cute little gadget to make that possible. Y-Charge is a solid well built little gadget that features two 2.1 amp USB ports, enough oomph to charge any of your devices and it looks good while doing it. It is a tad expensive at $35 but once you see the design and feel the quality of this adapter you will agree it is worth the money.
TYLT also sent me a handful of iPhone 5 cases. Check out this video:
I was really impressed with the quality and the design of TYLT products. They are built well and look good I suggest you browse around their website and I’m sure you will find something you need or will want to complement your mobile devices.
