One of the coolest Moto Mods you can add any Moto Z Family smartphone is the Moto Insta-Share Projector. It is a pico projector that allows you to project whatever is on the screen of the Moto Z family smartphone on any nearby surface. Like the rest of the Moto Mods, it magnetically attaches to the back of the phone.
The projector adds 125 grams to your phone and pumps out 50 lumens that allows up to a 70″ image on any suitable surface. Much of the weight is an 1100 mAh battery that will run the projector for up to an hour. Combined with the phone battery the run time on a charge is about two and a half hours not ideal for binge watching the latest Netflix offering. The image is sharp but a little washed out and suffers in comparison to the bright saturated colours on the phone screen.
Even however with these shortcomings it is perfect for short presentations to small groups and it takes up a lot less space and is much easier to set up than a full powered projector. I used it for a couple of presentations and there was a litle extra buzz from the fact I could project a prety good image from my phone.
Setup couldn’t be easier. Snap it on to the back of the phone, power on the projector with the power button next to the lens, adjust the built in kickstand, set the focus and you are projecting whatever is on the screen of the phone. Keystoning is automatically taken care of in the projector.
The Moto Insta-Share Projector is the perfect tool for those who are often required to take presentations on the road. As a business tool it is worth the stiff $399 price of admission. Available at Bell, Rogers and TELUS
